Dealing with change effectively in the organisation is a very sought after skill set. When an organisation goes through changes, the way the organisation functions also changes. This includes the employees, who might need to change the way they approach their work. In general, we humans are creatures of habit, so when it comes to learning or especially unlearning, we resist it. When changes are not embraced by the employees, they don’t do well with it and ultimately the new project fails. In order to help the workplace be more accepting of the changes, it is important to have an open conversation about it. Informing the staff of the motive behind it as well as how it will affect the organisation as well the individual can go a long way.
