Competitive Spirit

A streak of competitive spirit is necessary for a team to do well. Competition within a team ensures everyone performs to the best of their ability, which improves productivity. At the same time if this is taken seriously, then it could lead to serious repercussions like dirty politics at the workplace. Hence it is important for the competition to be regulated. Instead of turning against each other, it is better to compete against competitors of the market- ‘Us vs Them’. In such a situation, the team will work together in order to do better than someone on the ‘outside’. This will lead the team to collaborate and put in their best effort to achieve objectives. This way the morale and productivity at the workplace will remain optimal.
