It is the ability to deal with unforeseen circumstances because problems will always arise, nothing ever goes exactly the way it’s planned. It usually has to do with getting to the bottom of the issues and solving it. It is especially important in higher leadership roles.

The ability to solve problems efficiently, displays the range of other skills like creative thinking, analytical abilities, leadership, decision making and effective communication.

Problem solving has certain steps that need to be followed. Instead of trying to find a solution right away, one must first understand and analyze the problem, researching it. The next step is to come up with different solutions, this requires creative thinking. Learning about the problem further can be quite beneficial to have a complete and thorough understanding of the issue. At this step, tackling problems as a group can help bring in a multi-dimensional view of it. This way, there can be many solutions which will be brought to the most effective through weighing the pros and cons of each. Finally, after choosing the best solution, the process of implementation calls for teamwork to make sure every section of the solution strategy works right.
